Good. Because this ain’t your grandma’s motorcycle parts company. Mangum Elite is raw, fun, and built by riders who actually ride. My install instructions literally start with:
“Don’t read these in front of your f*ing family. Are you drunk? Perfect — let’s get to work.”

Because bikes should be fun, not frustrating.

A Drunk, Grom,and  Some Cardboard

Mangum Elite started in 2019 when I (Steve Mangum) bought a Honda Grom while drunk. Yep, that’s how it began. I wanted my Grom to stand out, so I hacked away with cardboard and scissors, testing and failing until something finally worked.

The turning point? Finding my friend eddy, which lead me to GoCreate — a makerspace here in Wichita. They’ve been my second home ever since. I still do all my prototyping, fab work, and even sticker runs there. The staff has always been supportive, patient, and knowledgeable, pushing me to grow while they grow too. Without them, Mangum Elite would’ve stayed just an idea on a workbench.

From Garage to Global
The first time I posted my bagged Grom on Facebook, people flooded my inbox asking how they could buy the kit. What started as an “accident” turned into Mangum Elite, and since then we’ve shipped to all 50 states and over 20 countries worldwide.

 

I’ve logged thousand-mile round trips on bagged Groms, traveled to shows like Smoky Mountain Small Bore and Import Face Off, and had the privilege to meet riders from every corner of the community.

Customers = Family

Over the years, I’ve met some incredible people. Like Daniel Canaday, who loaned me his Honda Navi to design a kit. Or the Kicker engineer from Oklahoma who trusted me with his Z125.

And right now? We’re prototyping the next big kit for the Benelli TNT 135 with the help of long-time customer and friend Chris Zacharias of Bad Azz Creations. Chris isn’t just a repeat customer — he’s the kind of guy who shares his knowledge, lifts up the community with his friendliness and trust, and brings wild, never-seen-before ideas to life. Giving him a shoutout is the least I can do.
